From Cuyahoga Falls to the National Stage
Mount Union & the D3 Grind
D'Vontay Friga grew up in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio and played Division III basketball at the University of Mount Union, graduating in 2020. At the D3 level, there are no shortcuts — just the work, the film, and the belief that you belong.
That belief carried him to TBT 2021, where he suited up for Team Challenge ALS — a moment that took him "from D3 to ESPN" and put his name on a national stage.
Today, D'Vontay is a full-time basketball creator with ~1.3M YouTube subscribers, a growing apparel brand, a gym in his hometown, and a 1v1 league he co-founded. His slogan "SMSP" — Stay Motivated, Stay Positive — is the throughline of everything he builds.
